Fauquier County Department of Agricultural Development

About Us

The Department of Agricultural (Ag) Development promotes the agricultural industry within Fauquier County, increases the economic viability of farming, and advises the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors on matters affecting the agricultural economy and its development. The department also provides promotion and marketing assistance to agricultural producers, connects farmers with markets, helps establish farmer’s markets, and explores opportunities for sales beyond the county. In partnership with other government offices and private organizations, the department supports farmland preservation, natural resources conservation, and lifelong agricultural learning.

You are invited to a self-guided adventure across nine unique family farms. Travel at your own pace, meet the farmers who steward the land, discover where your food and fiber come from, enjoy hayrides, farm animals, demonstrations, local shopping, delicious food, and make unforgettable memories with family and friends! Whether it’s your first Fall Farm Tour, or a cherished annual tradition, there’s something waiting to discover at every farm!
